Leaderboards & quizzes

Start a Trial or Rift, set your difficulty within the GM's limits, climb the leaderboard, and finish for confetti.

Quizzes are where you earn your spot on the board. A Trial is a path quiz, a Rift is the campaign final, and an Engagement is a node’s mini-quiz. Trials and Rifts let you pick your own difficulty and rank you against your party.

Play a Trial or Rift

  1. Open the start card

The start card shows your stats — Best Score, Best Streak, Pass <N>%, Attempts, and Remaining — plus the difficulty and leaderboard tiles.

The quiz start screen. verified @ 416eaf32d
  2. Set your difficulty (Trials & Rifts only)

Expand Difficulty and choose your Starting Hearts, Max Hearts, and Time Per Question — up to the ceilings your Game Master set. You can also add a Monster Timer (Off / 60s / 30s) for an extra challenge. (Engagements don’t have a difficulty picker.)

Pick your difficulty within the GM's limits. verified @ 416eaf32d
  3. Check the leaderboard

The Leaderboard tile shows the Top <N> with rank, avatar, name, and score; your row is highlighted. Empty boards read “No scores yet. Be the first!”. See All opens the full board.

Your row is highlighted on the board. verified @ 416eaf32d
  4. Start and answer

Begin the quiz. Questions shuffle and your mob/avatar animate. Pick One, Pick Many, and Ordering questions each have their own answer UI; correct answers raise your score and streak, wrong answers cost a heart. Trials and Rifts run on 3 hearts; an Engagement gives you 1 (with a second to earn).

Answer to raise your score and protect your hearts. verified @ 416eaf32d
  5. Finish

Pass and you’ll get a results screen with confetti and your final stats — then replay or advance. An Engagement ends on Engagement Complete!

Pass for confetti and a leaderboard update. verified @ 416eaf32d

Unlock order

A path Trial unlocks once you’ve completed every node in the path; the campaign Rift unlocks once you’ve cleared every path. A party context is needed for the standalone Trial route and the See All board.

No attempts remaining

If your Game Master set an attempt limit and you’ve used it up, the start action is disabled (“No attempts remaining”). Empty boards show “No scores yet. Be the first!”.
