Signup & First Steps
Create a free account, verify your email, and make your first campaign — a personal House is set up for you automatically.
Verified against app build 2f427ecbd · 2026-07-29
Getting started as a Gamemaster is free. You’ll sign up with your email, verify a code, and create your first campaign — and RPGLMS sets up a personal House for you automatically along the way. Creating campaigns and parties works on the Free tier; only AI generation requires an upgrade.
Email sign-in
RPGLMS currently signs you in with email and password — that’s the only method shown on the login card today. (Sign-in with Google and Apple exists in the system but is turned off in the current build.)
Look around first, no account needed
Want to see the experience before signing up? The public preview at app.rpglms.com/demo lets you explore the learning flow and a sandbox. It doesn’t run the real signup or campaign-creation flow — for that, follow the steps below.
Create your account
Choose Email, then Sign me up!
Fill the registration form
Enter your Email, First Name, Last Name, and Password — a live checklist shows the password requirements. There is also an optional Class code field if a teacher gave you one. A legal notice above the button reads “By continuing you agree to the…” — tapping Continue is your acceptance; there are no consent checkboxes to tick. Submit stays disabled until the fields are filled and the password is valid.

The signup form, with the Free / Explorer / Teacher / Pro / Enterprise upsell chips.verified @ 2f427ecbd Meet Your Hero
First sign-in opens the Meet Your Hero avatar sheet over Base Camp — this happens once, automatically. Pick your Face (skin, hair, ears, lips), Fit (helmet, armor, guards, cloak) and Fab (glasses, earrings, headband), or tap the green arrow to skip. Nothing here is permanent; you can change all of it later from the Player Journal. Options marked with a padlock unlock with a Patron+ subscription — the free set still builds a complete character.

Make your first campaign
Find the Gamemaster Quarters tab
Tap Create Campaign
In Gamemaster Quarters, tap Create Campaign. The hint below explains: “Create your first campaign to begin your story. A personal house will be set up automatically.” (A separate Create House button is intentionally hidden until you have a campaign — and only ever appears for active Sovereign members.)
Fill the campaign form and save
Give the campaign a title, subject, and audience; optionally add a first class and attach Lore. Save it. The server creates the campaign and auto-creates a personal House named after you — so you don’t have to set one up first. You’re taken straight into the Campaign Builder.
You're in the Campaign Builder
This is where you author paths, nodes, and content. See Create a Campaign → Path → Node for the full authoring flow.
If something goes sideways
Sign-in errors appear inline beneath the submit button (not as pop-ups). If you close the dialog mid-verification, you’ll be asked to confirm (“Leave sign-in? Your verification progress will be lost and you’ll need to request a new code.”).
Want AI to draft content for you?
The AI Wizard in the builder is available on the Patron tier and up — Free accounts build manually. See Generate Objects with the AI Wizard.
